Cave house, Hampi
Kardigudda, Hampi
The stay
Tucked among giant boulders and forested hills near Hampi, Karnataka, this rustic farmstay offers simple, cave-style rooms that blend into the rocky landscape. The surroundings may look barren at first, with enormous boulders scattered across the hills, but the farm itself is dotted with trees that create a lovely play of sunlight and shadows. Birds chirp through the day, and if you keep the noise down, you might hear peacocks calling from nearby.
The hilltop is the perfect spot to watch the sunset, followed by a quiet evening around the bonfire under a star-filled sky. There’s no pressure to do anything here. Spend time in silence, meditate, pick up that book, or finally make space for painting or writing. It’s the kind of place where you can put your screen aside and simply enjoy being present.
